Indian cricketers are currently in Mumbai for Victory Parade from Marine Drive to the Wankhede Stadium.

The Indian cricket team finally returned back to India after winning the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 title by defeating South Africa by seven runs on June 29 in Barbados. The Rohit Sharma-led Indian side were stuck in Barbados due to Hurricane Beryl.

The Indian team touched down in New Delhi on July 4, where they saw a huge warm welcome by the fans, who were waiting for past few days to welcome their stars with the T20 World Cup 2024 trophy. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Jay Shah arranged a special flight for all the Indian Cricket Team members as well as journalists to bring them back home. The flight departed on July 2 evening and landed in New Delhi airport on early morning on July 4.

The Rohit-led side then went to the ITC Maurya hotel, where they stayed and cut a special customized cake before meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

After meeting with the PM, the Indian side departed for Mumbai, where they will have a bus ride from Marine Drive to the iconic Wankhede Stadium from 5:00 PM IST on July 4 to celebrate with the fans for their T20 World Cup 2024 trophy success.

After arriving in Mumbai, four Mumbai-based Indian cricketers will be felicitated in the Maharashtra Vidhan Bhavan complex on July 5, state assembly speaker Rahul Narwekar said in the House on July 4.

Four Mumbai cricketers will meet CM Eknath Shinde at the Maharashtra Assembly: Shiv Sena leader Pratap Sarnaik

Shiv Sena leader Pratap Sarnaik said that the open ride bus program in Mumbai was organized by the BCCI, but four team India players from Mumbai, including former T20I skipper Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, Shivam Dube, and Yashasvi Jaiswal, will meet Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde on July 5 at the Maharasthra Assembly.

“Today’s program in Mumbai has been organised by BCCI. Team India players from Mumbai including Captain Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, Shivam Dubey and Yashasvi Jaiswal will come to the Maharashtra Assembly tomorrow to meet CM Eknath Shinde. Being a member of MCA, I invited the players and they have accepted my invitation…,” Shiv Sena leader Pratap Sarnaik said to ANI.
