Top 4 Indian batsmen fastest to score 2000 runs in T20I cricket

Only four Indian batsmen have so far scored over 2000 runs in T20I cricket.
Cricket’s shortest format has become the most popular one among the new generation of fans as they witness batters score the bulk of runs with boundaries and even a 10-ball 30 gives them goosebumps. T20I cricket has become the new-age entertainment dose. A few big names have scored the bulk of runs in this format and proved their worth with their consistency. Virat Kohli is currently leading the leading run-scorer chart in this format.
Apart from Virat Kohli, and Rohit Sharma, the likes of Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan also had their share of success in the T20I format. Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan are the joint quickest batters in international cricket to complete the 2000 runs milestone. Both of them took 52 innings to complete 2000 career runs. Let’s have a look at the Indians who have completed 2000 career runs in the T20I format.
4. Rohit Sharma – 77 innings:

Rohit Sharma is the second leading run-scorer in this format and his race with Virat Kohli is always on in the shortest format. Rohit is close to the 4000 milestone by just 147 runs. Rohit is 3rd quickest Indian batter after Virat Kohli and KL Rahul to complete the 2000 run mark. Rohit took 77 innings in his T20I career to complete the milestone. Rohit completed the milestone just 5 days after Virat Kohli became the quickest Indian batter to touch 2000 runs milestone.
3. KL Rahul – 58 innings:

Part of the senior group in the T20I squad, KL Rahul is the second quickest Indian batter to complete 2000 runs in a career. KL Rahul has been a prolific scorer for the Indian team in the shortest format and he has replicated a similar style of play in the Indian Premier League as well. Right-hand batter KL Rahul touched the milestone in 58 innings in his career. He completed the milestone last year against Australia in Mohali.
2. Virat Kohli – 56 innings:

Virat Kohli is currently the leading run-scorer in T20I format and he is the first one to go past the 4000-run mark in this format. Virat Kohli is away from action in the shortest format after India’s semi-final defeat against England in the T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia. Virat Kohli is the joint-quickest Indian batter to complete 2000 runs in this format. He took 56 innings to touch the milestone.
1. Suryakumar Yadav – 56 Innings:

Indian middle-order batter Suryakumar Yadav is the joint fastest to complete 2000 T20I runs for India.
