India won their opening game of Asia Cup 2025 against Oman.
The Indian Cricket Team are gearing up for the clash against the Pakistan Cricket Team in the ongoing Asia Cup 2025. The match between the two sides will be played on Sunday (14th September) at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai.
After completing a brilliant win in the opening game against the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the Indian team have been putting in hard yards in the nets ahead of the Pakistan clash. The game against the home team didn’t test them much, but playing against Pakistan will be a big challenge for them.
With a clash against Pakistan around the corner, not only the players, but the management has also pulled their socks up for the game. While the fitness tests, including Bronco, are part of the preparations, fielding coach T Dilip came up with a new drill for the players, as per the reports in The Times of India.
The drill was introduced to enhance the ability of Indian players to cut the gaps in the field. As per the reports, it is more like a goalkeeper’s drill as the fielding coach placed a goalpost-sized safety net away from the batting nets.
Hardik Pandya, Shubman Gill shine in the new fielding drill

The players had to protect their goal, and the practice was done with the new ball, as it travels faster than the old one. The task consisted of taking two sets of five catches, and they also had to change the guards, just like they do in batting.
Hardik Pandya stole the limelight during the drill. He pulled off a stunner after dropping one catch, and soon after that, he took another blinder. This left Shivam Dube amazed as he was watching his counterpart taking quick catches in the drill.
After Hardik Pandya, it was vice-captain Shubman Gill, who took some gun catches during the drill. The reports claimed that the right-hander took four full-stretched catches — two to his left and two to his right. He left T Dilip in awe as he shouted, “You are making it a habit.”
India would be keen to carry on their good form and preparations into the game against Pakistan. The match is expected to he a high-intensity one as there is a lot of tension going on between both nations.
