Many active and former Indian men’s cricketers congratulated India Women Cricket Team on social media following their victory in ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025. The Harmanpreet Kaur-led side crushed South Africa Women by 52 runs in the final to lift an ICC title for the first time.
The Harmanpreet Kaur & Co. posted 298/7 after being asked to bat first, with Shafali Verma being the top run-scorer with her 87-run knock. In the chase, South Africa captain Laura Wolvaardt (101) hammered a magnificent ton to dominate Indian bowlers and put her team in a commanding position. However, India Women made a comeback in the end with Deepti Sharma taking a fifer as the hosts eventually bundled out the opposition for 246 runs.
Indian men cricketers were not behind in supporting Harmanpreet Kaur & Co. during the match. Videos of Indian players watching the match from Australia went viral on social media. Moreover, Indian opener Rohit Sharma was also spotted at the Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai watching the summit clash.

Many active and former Indian players congratulated the Harmanpreet Kaur-led side following their triumph on social media. Virat Kohli, Shubman Gill, and Suryakumar Yadav were some of the active Indian players to hail India Women. Many former players like Sachin Tendulkar, Suresh Raina, Virender Sehwag, Irfan Pathan, Yusuf Pathan, among others heaped praises on the Women in Blue on X (formerly Twitter).
Meanwhile, Shafali Verma, who scored a half-century and clinched two wickets in the final, was adjudged Player of the Match. Deepti Sharma was picked as Player for the Tournament after finishing as the leading wicket-taker with 22 scalps.
