3 Indian players to watch out for in WPL 2025

The third edition of the Womens Premier League (WPL 2025) is all set to begin on February 14.
After the immense success of the first two editions of the Women’s Premier League (WPL), the third edition is all set to get underway. Royal Challengers Bengaluru will aim to defend their title against four other opponents.
They will be part of the tournament’s opener against Gujarat Giants on Friday in Vadodara. The WPL 2025 promises to be another blockbuster season of this lucrative league, which has already made its mark in the first two seasons.
All the big names in women’s cricket will showcase their skillset in the coming season. A number of Indian superstars will also be featuring in the tournament with the aim of getting a call-up to the national side for the 2025 Women’s World Cup later in the year. Here we will talk about three Indian stars to watch out for in the coming WPL 2025.
Three Indian players to watch out for in WPL 2025
1. Shafali Verma
Indian opener Shafali Verma will be in action once again for Delhi Capitals. The 21-year-old star is known for her aggressive approach and is the leading Indian scorer in the WPL. Shafali has scored 561 runs in 18 innings at an average of 35.06 and a blistering strike rate of 168.46.
She has played a big role in helping her team make it to the finals of both editions. Shafali has a point to prove to the Indian selectors. She has been out of the team for 7-8 months now and will be eager to get on the field and deliver some brilliant performances.
2. Saika Ishaque
The 29-year-old Saika Ishaque is another Indian star who has been a shining light in the WPL. She played a major role in MI winning the inaugural season in 2023. In fact, she is the leading Indian wicket-taker in WPL history. She has taken 24 wickets in 19 games at an economy rate of 7.23.
Her breakthrough performance in 2023 earned her a debut for India in WODIs and WT20Is. But she couldn’t replicate her WPL success for Team India. Her ability to take wickets in the middle overs makes her a player to watch out for.
3. Raghvi Bist
The 20-year-old all-rounder Raghvi Bist is all set to make her debut in the WPL 2025. She will be representing RCBW in the third edition. She recently made her WT20I debut for India after some good scores for India Women A. She is an attacking batter who can bat anywhere.
She is also a medium pacer who gives the team the desired balance. Team India are searching for a pace-bowling all-rounder; that is where Raghvi can be a great asset. She will be a one of the players to keep an eye on during the WPL 2025.
