How have Indian stars performed in Duleep Trophy 2026? Know here

Some of the big Indian stars are featuring in Duleep Trophy 2026.

The Duleep Trophy 2026 got underway on August 23, marking the beginning of India’s domestic first-class season. This edition features six zonal teams – North Zone, South Zone, East Zone, West Zone, Central Zone and North-East Zone – with the competition being played in a knockout format.

The Central Zone are the defending champions, and the South Zone finished as the runners-up last season; they hence received a direct entry into the semi-finals of the knockout competition. The other four teams began their campaign in the quarter-finals and are fighting for the two remaining spots in the semi-finals. The East Zone side are taking on the Northeast Zone, and the North Zone are clashing against the West Zone in Bengaluru in a four-day Test action from August 23 to 26.

The two quarter-finals ended being very contrasting to each other, as the East Zone side having single-handedly dominated the Northeast Zone and marched into the semis with a massive 210-run victory and an innings.

The North Zone vs West Zone contest, on the other hand was considerably tighter. The North and West Zones both comprise several experienced international stars, and hence the competition between bat and ball was very tight. After a tough fight, North Zone registered a 52 run victory over West Zone to seal a spot into the semis.
