India lost T20I series against Ireland and England
Indian Cricket Team’s recent T20I form has put them under pressure, and the management is also looking for the root causes of terrible performances. After losing the series against Ireland, India have now suffered another disappointing defeat, with England leading the five-match series by 3-0 with one game still left.
The results have raised several questions on India’s batting, bowling and overall team balance. Some of the players are doing well, but majority of the team is struggling to perform consistently under the new captain, Shreyas Iyer.
With one T20I still left in the England series, the focus has already shifted toward what changes India could make before their upcoming bilateral series, including the ENG vs IND ODI series and the Zimbabwe tour.
According to the Times of India (TOI) reports, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is also expected to review the performance of the coaching staff following recent turmoil.
Things not right in Indian dressing room; One coaching staff member set to leave team

Reports have claimed that at least one member of Gautam Gambhir’s support staff is likely to leave the side. The support staff had signed a 2+1-year contract with the BCCI, giving both parties the option to extend the deal after two years.
However, reports also claim that one coach has already held discussions with an IPL franchise and could move there in the coming months. Another member of the coaching setup could also consider leaving, but there has been no official confirmation so far.
According to reports, the BCCI will conduct a detailed review after white-ball tour of England ends. It is expected that the board’s meeting will primarily focus on the team’s performances and it is also suggested that the coaching staff will come under evaluation after back-to-back T20I series defeat.
The reports also claimed that cracks have deepened in the dressing room since the Test series defeat against South Africa at home, and it is not the happiest place to be at the moment. The disagreements between the selectors and the coaching staff have further complicated matters.
The Head coach Gautam Gambhir remains under contract until 2027, but the recent results have increased the pressure on the current support staff of the Indian cricket team.
Why is BCCI reviewing India’s coaching staff?
India’s recent T20I series defeats against Ireland and England have raised serious concerns, and this has led the BCCI to assess both the players and the coaching staff.
Is Gautam Gambhir being removed as India’s head coach?
No. There is no official confirmation. Gambhir remains under contract until 2027, although reports suggest the coaching setup will be reviewed.
