5 Indian Players who may earn big in IPL 2026 auction

IPL 2026 auction is scheduled to take place on December 16, 2025.

Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 was an epic edition which saw Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) ending their long-awaited trophy drought. The last season broke many viewership records, and the expectations for the coming season are even higher.

However, just like every season, an auction will take place ahead of the start of the season. IPL 2026 auction is scheduled to take place on December 16, 2025, and some of the biggest names will come under the hammer. All ten teams will look to reform their team by buying players according to their needs.

IPL 2026 auction might bring some surprises with some mega deals for a few players. This will also be another chance for players who were unsold in the last auction to get a deal and be part of IPL 2026. Here we will talk about five such Indian stars who were unsold last season, but can bag a massive deal at IPL 2026 auction.

Five Indian Players who may earn big in Mini Auction

1. Prithvi Shaw

Prithvi Shaw is a well-known name at the domestic level, and his numbers and performances for his domestic side are also very good. He has also carried his good form into the ongoing Ranji Trophy 2025-26. In four games for Maharashtra, he has scored 396 runs at an average of 66 and a strike rate of 101.

He slammed a blistering 222 off just 156 balls against Chandigarh. He is a dynamic opener who can put the opposition under pressure and has played in the IPL. So, for teams who are looking for an experienced Indian opener, Shaw can tick all boxes.

2. Auqib Nabi

The last few seasons have seen good players coming from the Jammu and Kashmir region. Auqib Nabi is certainly one of them, who has shown good spark with his performances in the ongoing Ranji Trophy 2025-26. Bowling at a decent click and with the ability to swing the ball both ways, Nabi has troubled many batters.

He finished as the second-highest wicket-taker in the Ranji Trophy 2024-25 with 44 wickets. Now as well, he has 24 wickets in four games and is among the highest wicket-takers this season. An Indian pacer is always a hot pick at the auction, and Nabi has all the traits to get a big deal at the IPL 2026 auction.

3. Sarfaraz Khan

Sarfaraz Khan is an Indian juggernaut when it comes to run scoring at the domestic level. A first-class average of 63.10 indicates his ability to play under pressure and perform. His experience and ability to change gears when needed make him a perfect buy for teams who are looking for a solid Indian middle-order batter.

Though his IPL numbers might be against him, with the times, he has become a mature T20 star who can fetch big money at the IPL 2026 auction.

4. Shams Mulani

An Indian all-rounder with the ability to win games with bat and ball is a very rare commodity at the auction. Such players get massive deals from the teams because every team wants to have Indian players who can contribute in both departments. Shams Mulani is one of those stars. A proven match-winner for Mumbai, the 28-year-old has been in incredible form in the ongoing Ranji Trophy 2025-26.

In four games, he has taken 24 wickets at an economy rate of 3.30. With the bat, he is Mumbai’s second-highest scorer with 272 runs at an average of 54.40. Many IPL teams will be noticing his performance.

5. N Jagadeesan

N. Jagadeesan is another promising Indian batter who has promised even Indian selectors several times but has yet to find his feet at the IPL level. Even being picked up by CSK and KKR before, Jagadeesan has yet to crack at this level. But when it comes to quality, he is not less than anyone.

An Indian keeper, who can take the game away from the top. His ability to change gears from the word go is something teams look for from an Indian keeper. So, it won’t be a surprise if he gets a big deal at the IPL 2026 auction.
