India will lock horns with South Africa on Sunday, June 21.
The Indian Women’s Cricket Team will clash with South Africa Women on Sunday in their third clash of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026. India made a stunning start to their campaign, winning both their previous fixtures, while South Africa faced defeat in one of their two matches.
India won the games against Pakistan and Netherlands by 64 and 95 runs, respectively. Such convincing victories will keep the team in a good headspace and on song for their third victory.
Smriti Mandhana has been the star batter for India in both the clashes with her 68 and 74-run knocks, which guided the team to a good first innings total. Moreover, Richa Ghosh has been finishing the games very well for the team.
Meanwhile, the spinners are doing the job for India with Sree Charani bagging seven wickets and Shafali Verma claiming 4 wickets in two games. Deepti Sharma has six to her name. Nandni Sharma joined the wicket tally in the previous game with her 2 wickets.

The left-handed opener has been in exquisite form in the two games so far, with two consecutive 50+ scores. She anchored the innings against Pakistan when two early wickets fell for India. Smriti has batted with a strike rate above 150 in both the innings. She will continue her flawless batting for the important clash on Sunday.
2. Shafali Verma
The explosive powerplay batter was phenomenal in the previous clash, where she scored a half century and gave India a great start in the match. Harmanpreet Kaur had talked about utilising the powerplay well, and Shafali ensured that.
She was the Player of the Match in the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 Final, where she scored a match-winning 87 and also picked two crucial wickets, against the same opponent. She will be keen to translate that performance in this World Cup as well.
3. Jemimah Rodrigues
Jemimah has scored 20 runs in the two matches so far. However, her game against spin is phenomenal and very crucial for the middle overs. She will be India’s key to the strike rotation and runs consolidation in the middle phase.
4. Harmanpreet Kaur (C)
Harmanpreet Kaur scored 36 in the first match, and 12 in the second. She has looked in fine touch, but is yet to score the aggressive way she usually does. Her captaincy, however, has been brilliant, with regard to her bowling rotations and the field placements.
5. Yastika Bhatia
Yastika Bhatia played in the match against Netherlands, she was slotted at No.3 in the team, but was sent out to bat at No.5. She could manage to score 3 runs in that game. However, Yastika will most likely get another game as she is crucial in the games when early wickets fall.
6. Richa Ghosh (wk)
Richa scored 34 off 17 against Pakistan, while 20* off 8 against Netherlands. Her finishing lower down the order has been impeccable. Moreover, her wicket-keeping was flawless in the previous game, where she stumped out two batters and got one catch.
7. Deepti Sharma
The spin-bowling all-rounder scored 12*(9) and 10*(2) in the two games with her bat. She was the Player of the Match against Pakistan for her 5-wicket haul. She also claimed one wicket against Netherlands. Her proactive fielding adds to her contributions for the team.
8. Sree Charani
Sree Charani is the spinner, who is going under the radar. She picked 3 wickets in the first game, and followed It up with four in the second. Her variations, and economical bowling has yielded excellent results for the team. In the previous matches at Manchester, spinners were key wicket-takers, and Charani will come into play against South Africa with her crucial wicket-taking.
9. Renuka Singh Thakur
India lost the services of Shreyanka Patil because she got injured in the previous match and has been ruled out of the tournament. India can go with an extra pacer in their side. The pacers have not been able to pick wickets in the tournament so far, except for Nandni Sharma. Renuka is a good wicket-taking option for the team.
10. Kranti Gaud
Kranti has failed to pick any wickets in the tournament so far. However, she was very economical in the previous clash, giving merely 26 runs off her 4 overs. She has been trusted by the team management and will most likely get a long rope in the tournament.
11. Nandni Sharma
Nandni is playing her maiden T20 World Cup and she bagged two wickets in her first game, which was against Netherlands. She is the only pacer so far to have picked wickets for India. She will continue and build upon this form against South Africa.
