India's tour of Bangladesh 2025 postponed; BCCI announces new dates

India were scheduled to play three ODIs and three T20Is in August 2025 in Bangladesh.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed that India‘s upcoming tour of Bangladesh in 2025 has been cancelled. The governing body confirmed that both they and the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) mutually decided to defer the series.
The Indian Cricket team was all set to tour Bangladesh for the white-ball series. The two teams were scheduled to lock horns with each other in the three ODIs and three Twenty20 Internationals in August 2025. But the series won’t be played this year.
The BCCI stated that both they and the BCB were engaged in the discussion, and considering international cricketing commitments and scheduling, they decided to defer it. Releasing the official statement, the BCCI said:
“The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have mutually agreed to defer the white-ball series, three ODIs and three Twenty20 Internationals, between Bangladesh and India in August 2025 to September 2026.“
“This decision has been reached following discussions between the two Boards, taking into account the international cricketing commitments and scheduling convenience of both teams.”
India’s white-ball tour of Bangladesh to take place in 2026
The BCCI also confirmed that the series between India and Bangladesh will now take place in 2026. They added that the series will be played in September, and they will be releasing the fixtures in due course.
“The BCB looks forward to welcoming India in September 2026 for this eagerly anticipated series. Revised dates and fixtures for the tour will be announced in due course,” the statement from BCCI added.
Coming to the Indian Cricket Team, they are currently playing the test series against the England Cricket Team. The second game is underway at Edgbaston in Birmingham. The Shubman Gill-led team lost the first game in Leeds.

Although the BCCI didn’t reveal why India vs Bangladesh got cancelled, some reports claimed the series was postponed due to political reasons.
