List of Indian players who will miss SL vs IND Test series due to injuries
Six Indian players are set to miss the crucial two-match Test series due to injuries.
The Indian Cricket Team is back playing red-ball cricket as they take on Sri Lanka in a two-match Test series starting from August 15. The visitors will play Test matches in Galle and Colombo to strengthen their chances of making it to the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2025–27 final.
India are currently fifth in the WTC points table, behind Australia, South Africa, New Zealand, and Bangladesh. They will have to qualify for the top two to ensure their participation in the final of the WTC. However, the path isn’t easy, and the upcoming Test series will be hard as they will be facing New Zealand and Australia next.
The Shubman Gill-led side is also suffering from the problem of injuries, which has impacted the team selection. Main players getting injured and sitting out has damaged the chances of the team. There are currently more than 10 players at the Centre of Excellence of the BCCI in Bengaluru, regaining their fitness, and some of them are regular players of the Test team.

List of Indian players ruled out of the SL vs IND Test series
Six Indian players who were part of the Indian Test team in recent times will be missing the Sri Lanka tour. The list includes the name of premier fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah, who is a huge miss for the team as he suffered swelling in his knees while playing the ODI series against England. Along with him, another quick pacer, Harshit Rana, has suffered a hamstring injury and is ruled out.
Nitish Kumar Reddy is another victim of a hamstring injury and continues to miss games. Spin-bowling all-rounder Washington Sundar is suffering from a quadriceps injury, while Akash Deep has a lower-back stress fracture. Recently, Sai Sudharsan was also declared ruled out of the series after suffering a toe stress fracture.
