IPL 2023: Ben Stokes ruled out for a week, Deepak Chahar sidelined for a longer time - Reports

Chennai Super Kings to miss the services of Deepak Chahar and Ben Stokes in the IPL 2023

The Injury list in the IPL 2023 is getting bigger day by day, Now it's Chennai Super Kings' turn. CSK have suffered two massive blows as Deepak Chahar and Ben Stokes are set to miss out on a few games for the team. Stokes was injured and could not play against Mumbai Indians, while Deepak once again complained about a hamstring injury in his first over while bowling against MI and had to go out of the action for the entire game. Injury hit CSK had a comfortable win against Mumbai Indians at Wankhede stadium in Mumbai on Saturday.

Deepak Chahar's injury problems continue

In the mega auction, CSK bought Deepak Chahar for a big amount of 14 Crore. Deepak Chahar has completed only two games after getting a salary hike in 2022. He was out of action for part of the last year, including the entire season of the IPL 2022. Chahar will have to wait a little longer now for his comeback in the IPL 2023. As per the Media reports, Ben Stokes is also set to miss out on 2-3 games. Stokes will be out of action for a week. CSK invested heavily in Stokes as well.

ECB will be watching Ben Stokes' injury updates closely

Chennai played without Ben Stokes and Moeen Ali against Mumbai. CSK’s hero in the homecoming game against Lucknow Super Giants, Moeen Ali will be making his comeback against Rajasthan Royals at Chepauk Stadium on 12th April. Ali had bowled brilliantly at Chepauk in the last game. Stokes' injury will also be a concern for England. ECB will also be keeping a close eye on Stokes' injury updates. The Ashes is scheduled to start on 16th June.

Apart from Injury concerns, the CSK campaign looks on track. They had a poor start against Gujarat Titans but made a roaring comeback by winning two back to back games. CSK defeated Lucknow Super Giants at Chepauk and Mumbai Indians at Wankhede. They will take on table toppers Rajasthan Royals on 12th April in Chennai.
