IPL 2023 Updated Orange cap & Purple cap after Match 71, Qualifier 1, GT vs CSK

Chennai Super Kings defeated GT to qualify for the IPL 2023 final, while GT have another chance to make it to the summit clash.
Chennai Super Kings have become the first team in the IPL 2023 to qualify for the final. Chennai have secured their place in the final scheduled at Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad on 28th May. Chennai with a great bowling performance have defended their 172 runs total against Gujarat Titans by 15 runs. Chepauk’s wicket was dry and was a tough one to chase for Gujarat Titans. Batting first, Chennai once again had a brilliant 87 runs opening stand from Ruturaj Gaikwad (60) and Devon Conway (40). Titans did try to contain the CSK middle order but Ravindra Jadeja’s 22 runs cameo at the end helped CSK put up 172 on the board. Chasing 173, Titans had a nightmare. They kept losing wickets regularly and failed to put up a strong face against CSK’s bowling. Apart from Shubman Gill (42) no other batter stayed at the wicket for long. CSK spinners had a great run in the game as Ravindra Jadeja and Maheesh Theekshna picked up 4 wickets in the middle overs. Rashid Khan (30 in 16) did try to chase the target with his small cameo but he could not stay there for long. This is Chennai Super Kings first-ever win over Gujarat Titans.
