DC defeated SRH by a close margin of 7 runs to register their 2nd win of the IPL 2023.

With a win against Kolkata Knight Riders in their previous game, Delhi Capitals found their mojo back in the IPL 2023. Now after a close run chase against KKR, they have defended their 144 runs total against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Delhi Capitals have defeated SRH by 7 runs to get their second win this season. Delhi’s batting was as usual in trouble. They dropped Prithvi Shaw, yet they could not get the start they were looking for. Opener Phil Salt was out on golden duck. Manish Pandey (34) and Axar Patel's (34) 69 runs partnership helped them score to give SRH 145 runs target. Delhi bowlers kept the pressure on SRH batters from the ball one. Spinners in the middle overs put Delhi in command and they (Axar and Kuldeep) conceded only 43 runs in their 8 overs and picked up 3 wickets. At the end of the inning, Heinrich Klassen (31) did try his best to reach the target but Nortje sent him back.

IPL 2023 Updated Points Table:

It was once again a close win in a low-scoring encounter for Delhi Capitals. Against Kolkata Knight Riders they chased down 128 runs to win their first game, now against Sunrisers Hyderabad they have defended their 144 runs. Delhi with a close win have earned two more points but still with a poor NRR they are placed in 10th position in the table. Sunrisers Hyderabad are 9th in the table with 4 points in 7 games. Chennai Super Kings are at the top with 10 points in 7 games. Rajasthan Royals, Lucknow Super Giants, and Gujarat Titans are the other teams in the Top 4.

IPL 2023 Updated Orange cap holder:

Delhi Capitals captain David Warner has completed 300 runs in the IPL 2023. He could only score 21 runs in 20 balls against his former team and now rival Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League. No other major change took place in the Top 5 leading run scorer list. Orange Cap is still with RCB skipper Faf du Plessis, who is leading the race with 405 runs in 7 innings. Devon Conway is 2nd with 314 runs. David Warner with 306 runs in 7 innings is at 3rd place. Virat Kohli is 4th on this list with 279 runs. Conway’s opening partner in the CSK, Ruturaj Gaikwad is 5th with 270 runs in 7 innings.

IPL 2023 Updated Purple cap holder:

The Purple Cap race looked stable for the day. Royal Challengers Bangalore pacer Mohammed Siraj is leading this tally with 13 wickets in 7 games. Siraj has been bowling in superb rhythm with a great economy of 7.14 in the IPL 2023. Punjab Kings Arshdeep Singh is 2nd with 13 wickets. Arshdeep Singh rattled the Mumbai Indians batting lineup in the last game. Gujarat Titans Leg spinner Rashid Khan is 3rd in the race with 12 wickets in 6 games. IPL 2022 Purple Cap winner Yuzvendra Chahal is 4th on this list with 12 wickets. Chennai’s Tushar Deshpande is 5th and he also has 12 wickets under his name.

What's in IPL on Tuesday?

On Tuesday Night the action will shift to Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad. After defeating Lucknow Super Giants in a close game, Gujarat Titans will take on Mumbai Indians. Mumbai Indians had a reality check once again against Punjab Kings at Wankhede Stadium. The IPL 2023 is almost at the halfway stage, and both teams will be looking to get their campaign in line to get a spot in the Top 4 in the points table.
