IPL 2024 auction: Delhi Capitals sign Jammu and Kashmir bowler Rasikh Salam Dar for his base price
Rasikh Salam Dar was associated with Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2023.
Jammu and Kashmir pacer Rasikh Salam Dar is the third cricketer from Kashmir to participate in Indian Premier League along with Abdul Samad and Umran Malik. Rasikh Salam Dhar has found a new place in IPL and will be representing Delhi Capitals in the upcoming IPL 2024 season. Rasikh Salam Dar was released by Kolkata Knight Riders ahead of IPL 2024 mini-auction in Dubai.
Rasikh Salam Dhar was part of Mumbai Indians camp in IPL 2019 but soon after making his IPL debut, he was banned by BCCI following a discrepancy with his birth certificate. Rasikh Dar didn’t have much experience in IPL but with an extraordinary domestic season for Jammu and Kashmir in white-ball cricket, IPL teams have targeted him during IPL mini-auction 2024. Rasikh recently picked 6-wickets against Chhattisgarh in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.
Rasikh Salam Dar sold to Delhi Capitals
Indian pacer Rasikh Salam Dar entered the IPL 2024 auction at a base price of 20 lakhs, and he got sold to Delhi Capitals at his base price of 20 lakhs. Right-arm quick Rasikh Salam Dar is a great buy for the Delhi Capitals and nobody apart from the Capitals raised the paddle for him. Delhi Capitals needed one Indian pacer after releasing Chetan Sakaria from their camp.
Rasikh Salam Dar previously in the IPL
Right-arm pacer Rasikh Dar has played for Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders in Indian Premier League. He made his debut in the IPL 2019 against Delhi Capitals at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. He had a tough debut game with Mumbai and ended up with a bowling figures of 0/42 in 4 overs. He failed to pick a wicket in his debut game and didn’t get an opportunity after the debut game. He waited for two years to get another game in the league.
In IPL 2022 mega auction, Kolkata Knight Riders spent only 20 Lakh rupees on Rasikh Dar. He did play two games for KKR in IPL 2022 but remained wicketless in both matches. Rasikh is yet to pick up a wicket in the league. Rasikh has bowled 8 overs in his three IPL games and has conceded 70 runs. Rasikh Salam Dar has played 15 games for Jammu and Kashmir in the T20 format and picked up 15 wickets.
