Virat Kohli scored 21 runs off 20 balls in match 1 of the IPL 2024 between CSK and RCB.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) fielders Ajinkya Rahane and Rachin Ravindra produced a stunning moment during the Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s (RCB) innings to dismiss star batter Virat Kohli during first match of the IPL 2024 on March 22. Both sides are facing each other at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

The incident happened in 12th over of the innings when Mustafizur Rahman bowled a short delivery, which RCB opener Kohli hooked towards deep mid-wicket after shuffling across the stumps. The slower pace on the ball made it difficult for Kohli to time the hook shot and sent the ball over the ropes.

CSK fielder Rahane, running to his right, showed his reflexes and took a brilliant sliding catch, but momentum was taking him towards the rope. Rahane then threw the ball towards debutant Rachin, who was running towards the rope from the opposite direction.

Rachin then completed an easy catch, but it was checked by the TV umpire, who gave the favor in CSK favor and gave Kohli marching orders. The 35-year-old batter just managed to score 21 runs off just 20 balls.
