IPL 2024: Who has replaced Harry Brook in Delhi Capitals' squad?

Harry Brook was signed by DC for INR 4 crores at the IPL 2024 auction.
Delhi Capitals (DC) were handed a huge blow when their big signing in the recent auction for the IPL 2024, England batter Harry Brook pulled out of the tournament. He did so because of the death of his grandmother and he wanted some time alone with the family.
His grandmother’s poor health had led to Brook pulling out of England’s recent India test tour as well, where the visitors lost the five-match test series 1-4.
Brook confirmed before the season began that he would not be heading to India for his second IPL season. The Capitals purchased brook for Rs 4 crores at an auction in Dubai.
Delhi have had a poor start to their IPL 2024 campaign, losing four of their first five matches. The Capitals are at the bottom of the points chart since their NRR plummeted after they conceded more than 200 in their last two games.
On Sunday, April 8, Kolkata scored 272 runs in Vizag and defeated Delhi by 106 runs, while Mumbai scored 234 runs and won by 29 runs at the Wankhede Stadium.
Lizaad Williams replaced Harry Brook in DC squad for IPL 2024
Meanwhile, Delhi Capitals have named the replacement player for Harry Brook who opted out of this year’s IPL season. DC have signed South Africa pacer Lizaad Williams for his base price of INR 50 lakhs. This will be his first stint in the IPL.
Lizaad Williams, 30, has been in fantastic form, having played nine matches for the Titans in the Cricket South Africa T20 Challenge. The right-arm fast bowler took 15 wickets in 9 matches for the Jo’Burg Super Kings in this year’s SA20 tournament.
Williams has 106 wickets from 83 T20s, with a bowling average of 19.76. He made his South Africa debut in April 2022 and has played two tests, four ODIs and 11 T20Is. He was part of South Africa’s squad for the 2023 ODI World Cup, and played one game, against Bangladesh.
Williams will add to the Capitals’ pace attack, including Anrich Nortje, Ishant Sharma, Khaleel Ahmed, Jhye Richardson, and Mukesh Kumar. Mitchell Marsh and Sumit Kumar are two of their pace-bowling all-rounders.
