IPL 2024: Delhi Capitals' Mitchell Marsh ruled out for a week with hamstring injury
Mitchell Marsh has just played four games in the IPL 2024 so far.
After losing four matches in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, Delhi Capitals (DC) have suffered another setback as their all-rounder Mitchell Marsh has been ruled out for a week with hamstring injury. Marsh also missed Capitals’ last match against Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on April 7.
Earlier, franchise’s director of cricket Sourav Ganguly confirmed the news of Marsh’s injury during the pre-match conference on April 6. However, Ganguly didn’t reveal what type of injury the star all-rounder picked up or how long it would take him to recover.
In the ongoing 17th edition of the IPL, the DC all-rounder has played just four games. However, he couldn’t make much impact with both bat and ball. Marsh has scored 61 runs and taken one wicket in the ongoing tournament.
He has gone for a scan: DC assistant coach provides update on Mitchell Marsh
Meanwhile, assistant coach of the Delhi-based franchise, Pravin Amre provided an update on fitness of their overseas all-rounder Marsh.
Speaking after DC’s defeat against Mumbai Indians on Sunday, Pravin Amre said “A few of our players are injured, and the worrying sign is Mitch Marsh.
“He has gone for a scan and the physios will give us a report in a week’s time. Then we will come to know what the exact situation is. Whether he can [play the entire season] or not depends on the reports,” he added.
Capitals suffered their fourth loss of the season as Mumbai Indians crushed them by 29 runs to register their first win of the season on Sunday, April 7.
