IPL 2024: "Get a life.."- LSG fielding coach Jonty Rhodes comes up with a bizarre reply to a fan
The fan had been tagging Jonty Rhodes and other LSG officials for past 10 days asking for a jersey on X.
Jonty Rhodes’ charisma and charm have made him a beloved cricketer around the world, and he acts as an inspiration to both cricketers and spectators. The former South African player is credited for making fielding attractive thanks to his athletic dives and accurate direct hits at the stumps.
The former South African cricketer considers India his second home, and he even named his daughter after the country. The athlete, well known for his on-field abilities, is currently in India as a member of the Lucknow Super Giants’ (LSG) coaching staff.
However, his recent post on social media platform X has divided fans.
The incident happened when a die-hard LSG fan wanted a jersey and requested the franchise’s admin on Twitter to gift him a jersey. The fan had been tweeting at the franchise, Sanjiv Goenka, Sai Kishore, and Jonty Rhodes for the last 10 days to get their attention and get a jersey of the franchise.
Rhodes, seemingly fed up at being tagged in the fan’s post for 10 days in a row, thanked the fan for the support, but asked him to get productive with his time and get a life.
Jonty replied to the fan, “Brother, get a life. Many thanks for the support, we appreciate it. But wow, come on.”
LSG to next clash with Delhi Capitals at home on April 12
LSG are presently fourth in the IPL 2024 points table, with three wins and one loss from four games. The KL Rahul-led team will face the Delhi Capitals next Friday, April 12, at their home field, the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium.
After losing their first match of the season to the inaugural winners Rajasthan Royals, LSG rebounded to win three games straight.
They overcame the Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) before getting the better of IPL 2022 winners Gujarat Titans (GT). A victory in their next match will ensure that LSG maintain their position in the top four.
