IPL 2024: BCCI reschedules KKR vs RR and GT vs DC matches; Check full revised schedule
The venues of the KKR vs RR and GT vs DC IPL 2024 matches haven’t been changed by the BCCI.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), on Tuesday, April 2 rescheduled two matches of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. The matches between the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) and the Gujarat Titans and Delhi Capitals have been rescheduled.
Earlier it was reported that the BCCI and the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) are in touch with the Kolkata police due to Ram Navami festivities which will be a nationwide and authorities are unsure if they can provide full security or not for the IPL 2024 game that night.
The BCCI had earlier announced the IPL 2024 schedule in two phases. Initially, the board unveiled fixtures for the first 21 games before releasing the remaining 53 games following the announcement of the upcoming Lok Sabha election dates in India.
The second phase of the ongoing IPL features 52 games, including playoffs. The next phase will start on April 8. Defending champions Chennai Super Kings will host KKR in Chennai.
CSK will host their first IPL final in 12 years on May 26. The M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai had previously hosted the two finals in 2011 and 2012.
What are the new dates of KKR vs RR and GT vs DC matches in IPL 2024 event?
The fixture between KKR and RR, which was earlier scheduled to take place at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on April 17 (Wednesday), will now be played a day prior on April 16, 2024 (Tuesday).
The match between GT and DC, which was earlier to be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad on April 16 (Tuesday), has now been rescheduled to April 17 (Wednesday). It is to be noted that the venues for both high-voltage matches will remain the same.
“BCCI announced the rescheduling of two TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 matches,” the board stated in an official release.
