Mayank Yadav has played three games till now in the IPL 2024.
In a major boost for the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) ahead of their next match at home in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 against Mumbai Indians (MI), young pacer Mayank Yadav has been declared fit.
The young speedster made his IPL debut in the ongoing season against the Punjab Kings. He impressed everyone with a three-wicket haul. In the Super Giants’ next match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Mayank once again scalped three wickets and also won the Player of the Match award for his match-defining spell.
In his third match of the IPL 2024 against last year’s runners-up, Gujarat Titans, the 21-year-old rising pacer went off the field after bowling just one over. Mayank complained about the abdominal pain. Since then, Mayank has missed Lucknow’s next five league games in the ongoing IPL 2024.
Mayank Yadav has passed all the fitness tests: LSG bowling coach Morne Morkel
However, before LSG’s next match in the ongoing tournament against MI, Lucknow bowling coach Morkel has confirmed that the 21-year-old speedster has passed all the fitness tests on Monday and is available for selection.
“Regarding Mayank Yadav, he has passed all the fitness tests and is in the probable XII for the match against Mumbai Indians. He is looking good and is ready to bowl again,” said Morne Morkel in the pre-match press conference on Monday.
How Mayank Yadav has performed so far in the IPL 2024?
In the ongoing IPL 2024, the right-arm speedster has played just three games and has taken six wickets with a stunning economy of 6.00. His fiery pace bowling, which clocks above 145 kmph consistently, has been the major talking point in the ongoing tournament. Many cricket experts think that the youngster should get a place in the Indian squad for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2024 in June.
