IPL 2024: Mitchell Marsh picks up injury before MI vs DC match, confirms Sourav Ganguly

Mitchell Marsh has scored 61 runs in four games in the IPL 2024 so far.

The Delhi Capitals (DC) have suffered a major setback ahead of their important match against five-time champions Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Wankhede Stadium on April 7. Their star-all-rounder Mitchell Marsh, might miss the game due to an unfortunate injury he picked up before the crucial clash.

The development was confirmed by the franchise’s director of cricket Sourav Ganguly during the pre-match conference. However, Ganguly did not disclose what type of injury Marsh picked or how long he would take to recover.

In the ongoing IPL 2024, Marsh has played all four matches for the Capitals. The all-rounder couldn’t make much of an of an impact in any of those four games. Marsh has just scored 61 runs and picked only one wicket in the ongoing 17th edition of the IPL.

In Marsh’s absence, Capitals may bring Australian explosive batter Jake Fraser-McGurk into the playing XI, who came in as a replacement for star pacer Lungi Ngidi.

Kuldeep Yadav suffers groin injury: Sourav Ganguly

During the pre-match conference ahead of MI clash, Ganguly also confirmed that their star-leg spinner Kuldeep Yadav has suffered groin injury and he will undergo a fitness test during training and by evening they will know about his availability for the MI vs DC match.

Kuldeep has played just two matches in the IPL 2024 season so far. The leg-spinner played against the Punjab Kings and Rajasthan Royals and has taken three wickets till now.
