KKR crushed RCB by seven wickets in the IPL 2024 Match No. 10 in Bengaluru.

Star opener Virat Kohli’s stunning knock formed the foundation for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) to post 182/6 in 20 overs against arch-rivals Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the IPL 2024 match in Bengaluru on March 29.

Kohli smashed an unbeaten 83 runs off just 59 balls, including four boundaries and four sixes. Overseas batter Cameron Green also scored 33 runs off 21 balls, as the hosts showed fighting spirit after being asked to bat first by the visitors on a track that was on the slower side.

Glenn Maxwell, who was dropped twice on 11 and 21, managed to score just 28 runs and couldn’t capitalize on his luck. In the end, RCB’s veteran batter Dinesh Karthik played a crucial cameo of 20 runs in just eight deliveries, including three maximums and added the finishing touches, as the hosts managed to post over 180 runs against KKR.

While chasing 183 runs, the KKR openers went bonkers against Bengaluru’s bowling attack, as they smashed 85/0 in six overs. This was all thanks to Sunil Narine and Phil Salt, who unleashed their beast mode, as they hammered RCB pacers – Mohammed Siraj, Yash Dayal and Alzarri Joseph all over the park during the powerplay in the second innings.

In the seventh over, left-arm spinner Mayank Dagar gave the hosts their first breakthrough as opener Narine departed after smashing 47 runs. Bengaluru’s pacer Vijaykumar Vyshak took the wicket of Kolkata’s opener Salt in the next over. Salt departed after scoring 30 runs.

After taking two quick wickets, hosts RCB couldn’t keep the momentum with them, as KKR skipper Shreyas Iyer and hard-hitter Venkatesh Iyer went after Bengaluru’s bowling attack. Iyer (50 runs of 30 balls) smashed a blistering fifty before giving his wicket to RCB left-arm pacer Dayal in the 16th over.

In the end, the Knight Riders hammered hosts RCB in their home ground by seven wickets with 19 balls remaining.
