IPL 2024: Mumbai Indians (MI) unveil new jersey ahead of the tournament

Hardik Pandya will lead Mumbai Indians (MI) in the IPL 2024.
The five-time Indian Premier League (IPL) champions Mumbai Indians (MI) had a performance dip in last two seasons of the league. After the IPL 2022 mega auction, MI failed to replicate their historical performance in the last two seasons. MI finished at last position in the IPL 2022 and then they qualified for the IPL 2023 playoffs, but failed to reach the finals. Ahead of the IPL 2024, MI have made a big change in their camp and named Hardik Pandya as captain replacing Rohit Sharma.
MI have also changed the look of their jersey for the upcoming season of the IPL. MI have unveiled their new jersey for the upcoming season and posted a video on social media featuring big stars like Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah and Suryakumar Yadav. Captain Hardik Pandya was also there in the video showing off new MI jersey for the fans.
Mumbai Indians posted on X (formerly Twitter), โFirst Look โ our star in our new kit.โ MIโs iconic Blue and Gold is kept intact with silver lines placed around the shoulder. All of the MI stars posed stylishly in the video. Slice is the official sponsor of MI. Mumbai have won the Indian Premier League trophy five times, which is joint-most along with Chennai Super Kings (CSK)
Mumbai Indians won their first ever title in the IPL 2013. MI then won IPL 2015, 2017, 2019 and 2020. MI did a historical IPL trade deal ahead of the IPL 2024 auction in Dubai and traded in Hardik Pandya from Gujarat Titans (GT) camp in an all-cash deal. Right after roping in Pandya, MI appointed him as captain for the upcoming season.
Bolstered by Hardik Pandyaโs return, MI players have gathered to prepare for the upcoming season of the IPL. MI will be playing their opening game against Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi International Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday, 24th March. The IPL 2024 will begin on 22nd March with defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) taking on Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at Chepauk.
