Sunrisers Hyderabad jumped to second spot in the IPL 2024 points table.

Match No. 35 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 was played between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, and it had some amazing batting performances from both sides. Eventually, SRH ended up winning by 67 runs. It was another massive total by SRH in the ongoing IPL 2024.

Batting first, they set the record for the highest powerplay score and most runs in the first ten overs. SRH posted a total of 266/7 in 20 overs. Travis Head scored 89 off 32 balls, and Shahbaz Ahmed made an unbeaten 59 off 29 balls. Abhishek Sharma also played a brilliant cameo of 46 off 12 balls.

Chasing the target, DC’s Jake Fraser-McGurk smashed a 15-ball fifty and made 65 off just 18 balls, with five fours and seven sixes. But there was not support from the other end. In the end, DC got all out for 199 runs and lost the fifth game in the IPL 2024.

After the halfway stage of the group stage, Rajasthan Royals are at the top with 12 points, as they have won six out of seven matches played so far. With this massive win, SRH have replaced Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in second place. With 10 points, SRH are second on the table.

KKR, Chennai Super Kings and Lucknow Super Giants are next on the table with 8 points each. It is just the NRR that has made the difference. Mumbai Indians, Delhi Capitals, and Gujarat Titans are next on the list with six points each. With four points, Punjab Kings are ninth, and Royal Challengers Bengaluru are at the bottom with two points.

SRH opener Travis Head, who smashed a 32-ball 89 in the 35th match of the season against DC, jumped to second position following the DC vs SRH clash in Delhi. Head now has 324 runs in six innings. Apart from this, no major changes are seen in the Orange Cap leaderboard for most runs in the IPL 2024. Virat Kohli is still leading the chart with 361 runs. Rajasthan Royals’ Riyan Parag is at third spot with 318 runs. Indian senior batsmen Rohit Sharma (297) and KL Rahul (286) are placed fourth and fifth on the list.

DC’s Kuldeep Yadav, who picked four wickets in a high-scoring encounter between DC and SRH on Sunday, has jumped to fifth spot and now has ten wickets to his name. Apart from this, no major changes were seen in Purple Cap leaderboard for most wickets in the ongoing IPL 2024. Jasprit Bumrah still leads the chart with 13 wickets to his name. Rajasthan Royals’ spinner Yuzvendra Chahal is second with 12 scalps.

Mumbai Indians’ Gerald Coetzee, who also has 12 wickets, stands at third spot on the list. Chennai Super Kings’ Mustafizur Rahman stands fourth on the list with 11 wickets.
