Match No. 30 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 ended as a historic batting event. Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) took on Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), and it was a record-breaking evening at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Both teams crossed the 250-run mark, and it was the first time in the history of the IPL.

Eventually, SRH ended up winning the game by 25 runs as RCB couldn’t keep up the run rate and fell short of the target. Fans saw some exceptional batting performances from both teams, but in the end, SRH bowled some quiet overs, which made the difference. Travis Head was unstoppable today. He didn’t stop and went berserk. The Southpaw went on to smash the fastest ton for Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL history. He completed it with just 39 balls. Head scored 102 off 41 balls with nine fours and 8 sixes. Notably, it was also the fourth fastest ton in the IPL. Chris Gayle (30 balls vs PWI), Yusuf Pathan (37 balls vs MI) and David Miller (38 balls vs RCB) are ahead of him.

2. Highest ever IPL total – SRH, 287/3

It was not long ago when Sunrisers Hyderabad smashed 277/3 against Mumbai Indians in Hyderabad to register the highest IPL total. They took it one step further this time. Batting first, SRH registered the highest IPL total of 287/3 at a run rate of 14.35 and broke their own record. With this, they also became the first ever IPL team to cross the 275-run mark twice in the IPL.

3. Fifth highest total – RCB, 262/7

Not just SRH; even RCB didn’t hold it back. They also had some blistering batting performances from the hosts. Dinesh Karthik, Faf du Plessis, and Virat Kohli played some brilliant innings, which helped them reach 262/7 in 20 overs. However, they lost the game, but they went on to post the fifth-highest IPL total ever. 262/7 is also the highest total by a team batting in second innings in the IPL.

4. Highest match aggregate in T20 cricket (Also in IPL) – 549 runs

Earlier the record for most runs in an IPL match was 523, which was made in the SRH vs MI game earlier this season. SRH made 277, and MI scored 246 in reply. But that record is also broken now. A total of 549 runs were scored in the RCB vs SRH clash, which not only broke the IPL records but also the all-time T20 record. 549 runs are the most runs scored in a 20-over game.

5. Most sixes in an IPL Match – 38 sixes

It was raining sixes at Chinnaswamy Stadium on Monday during the RCB vs SRH game. Both teams set a new record for most sixes hit in an IPL game. Batting first, SRH hit 22 sixes in their innings, while RCB hit 16 sixes in the chase. A total of 38 sixes were hit, and this game has seen the most sixes in an IPL game now.
