Here’s how squads of all 10 teams look like for the IPL 2024

The 17th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2024) will kick off on from March 22. The opening fixture will be played between defending Champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Royal Challengers (RCB) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

The IPL 2024 auction witnessed the participation of 332 players, hailing from many countries. Among them, 216 players were of Indian origin. Following player retention, releases, and trades, the 10 participating teams collectively had the opportunity to fill a maximum of 77 slots, including 30 overseas players.

The IPL 2024 mini-auction took place at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai on December 19. During the 2024 auction, Mitchell Starc became the most expensive player in IPL history, with the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) acquiring the Australian pacer for a whopping price of Rs 24.75 crores.

His teammate and ODI World Cup 2023-winning captain Pat Cummins also went over 20-crore mark and got sold for Rs 20.50 crores at the IPL 2024 auction. Cummins was sold to Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) as he became the first ever player in IPL history to get more than Rs 20 crores.
