IPL 2024: Updated points table after Match 10 RCB vs KKR

After defeating RCB in Bengaluru, KKR became the first team in IPL 2024 to win an away fixture.
Virat Kohli’s unbeaten knock of 83 off 59 balls and a crucial innings of 33 runs in 21 balls by overseas batter Cameron Green propelled Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) to reach 182/6 in 20 overs against arch-rivals Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in Match 10 of the IPL 2024 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on March 29.
Asked to bat first, Bengaluru lost their skipper Faf du Plessis early for just eight runs. However, Kohli and Green added 65 runs for the second wicket, with Green falling to KKR’s veteran spinner Sunil Narine after amassing 33 runs. However, the Knight Riders’ fielders were not at their best as they dropped Glenn Maxwell twice.
Maxwell failed to capitalize on the two chances as he scored just 28 runs in 19 deliveries. In the end, with a knock 20 runs in eight balls, RCB finisher Dinesh Karthik helped the hosts post over the 180-run mark. While chasing 183 runs, the KKR openers came out all guns blazing as Phil Salt and Sunil Narine destroyed RCB’s pacers – Mohammed Siraj, Yash Dayal and Alzarri Joseph. The visitors hammered 85/0 in six overs.
However, left-arm spinner Mayank Dagar took the crucial wicket of Narine, who smashed 47 runs. In the eighth over, Bengaluru’s pacer Vijaykumar Vyshak took the wicket of Salt, who scored 30 runs during his stay at the crease.
Just when RCB were looking to bounce back in the game, Knight Riders skipper Shreyas Iyer and Venkatesh Iyer went bonkers against Bengaluru’s bowling attack. The duo added 75 runs off 44 balls.
Venkatesh’s blistering knock of 50 runs and Shreyas’ unbeaten knock of 39 runs helped the Knights to crush Bengaluru in their home ground by seven wickets with 19 balls remaining. Kolkata also became first team to win an away fixture in IPL 2024.
