IPL 2024: Who has replaced Devon Conway in CSK squad for remainder of the tournament?

Devon Conway has been ruled out of IPL 2024 due to an injury.
New Zealand opener Devon Conway will not be available for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) for the remainder of IPL 2024. This was confirmed by the Indian Premier League on April 18, 2024, Thursday.
Conway, who is a keeper-batter and joined the Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2022, suffered a fracture in the joint of his left thumb during the second T20I against Australia in Auckland in February. He underwent surgery and CSK had hoped to have Conway back in May for the second part of the IPL, but he has now been ruled out for the entire season.
Conway played a key role in CSK’s IPL 2023 victory, scoring 672 runs in 15 innings at an average of 51.69 and a strike rate of slightly under 140. 47 of those runs came in a rain-soaked final against the Gujarat Titans in Ahmedabad, where Conway also earned the Player-of-the-Match.
With Conway out due to injury, Aravelly Avanish, the India U-19 wicket-keeper is CSK’s only backup to MS Dhoni.
Richard Gleeson replaces Devon Conway in CSK squad
Meanwhile, Richard Gleeson, an England seamer will replace the injured Devon Conway in the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) roster. Gleeson, 36, has represented England in six Twenty20 Internationals and taken nine wickets. In addition, he has played 90 T20s and taken 101 wickets.
Notably, Gleeson made his T20I debut at the age of 34 years and 219 days, taking Rohit Sharma’s wicket in his first over.
“CSK have added Richard Gleeson to the squad for the remainder of the TATA IPL 2024. Gleeson has represented England in six T20Is and has nine wickets against his name. Additionally, Gleeson has played 90 T20s and picked 101 T20 wickets. He will join CSK for his reserve price of INR 50 Lac,” the IPL statement read.
CSK are currently third in the points table with four wins from a possible six games.
