IPL 2025: Dewald Brevis included as Aakash Chopra picks his best XI of the tournament

Aakash Chopra picked three players each from GT and RCB in his best XI of IPL 2025.
Reputed cricket commentator Aakash Chopra has picked his best XI of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. He picked three players each from the Gujarat Titans (GT) and the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in his team.
He inducted two players each from Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Mumbai Indians (MI) and picked one player from Punjab Kings (PBKS). The cricket-turned-commentator picked Shreyas Iyer as captain of the side, who led PBKS to the final of the tournament.
The former India opener chose Sai Sudharsan and Virat Kohli as the openers for the side. While the GT opener won the Orange Cap, Kohli finished as the third-highest run-scorer in the league and top scorer of his team, RCB.

Interestingly, Chopra has included Proteas youngster Dewald Brevis in his team. Brevis was a member of CSK in the tournament. He showed a wonderful batting form in the lower middle order, hitting 225 runs at a strike rate of 180 in six games with two half-centuries.
For the spinner’s role, Chopra went ahead with Krunal Pandya, who bowled an incredible spell in the IPL 2025 final to win the Player of the Match (POTM) award. In the pace department, he picked Jasprit Bumrah, Josh Hazlewood, and Prasidh Krishna. The latter won the Purple Cap in the tournament.

The Rajat Patidar-led side outplayed the Shreyas Iyer & Co. by a close margin of six runs in the encounter. They piled up 190/9 in the first innings and later restricted PBKS to 184/7 in the second innings. RCB won their first-ever IPL trophy and became the eighth team to win the league.
