Several big names are set to go under the hammer at the IPL 2025 auction.

At the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 auction, the permutations and combinations for the bidding war will trigger excitement among fans and franchises.

With teams allowed to retain a maximum of six players, many franchises have had to part ways with key players, which has created a big pool of high-profile names in the upcoming auction.

As teams look to build their sides for the next IPL cycle, there are players who could generate massive bidding wars. In this article, we will take a closer look at the seven players who could go for over INR 10 crores at the IPL 2025 mega auction.

IPL 2025 auction: Top seven players who could fetch more than 10 crores

7. Ishan Kishan

After being released by five-time champions Mumbai Indians, Ishan Kishan will be available at the mega auction. Mumbai bought Kishan for a whopping INR 15.25 crores at the IPL 2022 mega auction.

Kishan’s performance last year was not up to expectations as the left-hander managed 320 runs in 14 league games. Being an attacking opener and a wicket-keeper makes him an exciting prospect for any team in the competition. Kishan is expected to be sold for a hefty sum in the IPL 2025 mega auction.

6. Will Jacks

Released by the Royal Challengers Bengaluru before the upcoming mega auction, Will Jacks was instrumental in RCB’s comeback in the second half of the IPL 2024 season. Replacing an under-performing Glenn Maxwell, Jacks contributed to RCB’s top order with 230 runs at a strike rate of 175.

Jacks is also a handy off-spinner, which makes him valuable on Indian pitches. Given the nature of their home grounds, teams like Chennai Super Kings and Lucknow Super Giants could make big bids for the England spin-bowling all-rounder.

5. Jake Fraser-McGurk

Australia’s young sensation Jake Fraser-McGurk earned a name for himself in the last IPL season by scoring 330 runs at a strike rate of 234. McGurk has been released by the Delhi franchise, which means he will go under the hammer in the mega auction this year.

Jake is known for his flamboyant approach as he takes on the bowlers from ball one. McGurk proved last season that he can handle world-class bowling attacks in the world’s best T20 league with fearlessness. McGurk is expected to attract bids of over INR 10 crore in the auction.

4. Arshdeep Singh

India’s star left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh is among the huge bunch of players released by Punjab Kings. Singh’s release has come as a surprise to many, given his excellent form in T20 cricket.

Arshdeep was pivotal in India’s triumph in the ICC World T20 2024, taking 17 wickets in the tournament. His ability to bowl well with both new and old balls is expected to trigger a huge bidding war.

3. KL Rahul

After being released by the Lucknow Super Giants, KL Rahul will be available at the IPL 2025 mega auction. Rahul was in the firing line last year for his slow batting and outdated approach in the powerplay.

Nonetheless, his excellent batting record, which includes an orange cap in the 2020 season, is expected to land him a bid of more than INR 10 crores. Rahul also has vast leadership experience under his belt, which will help his case in the mega auction.

2. Shreyas Iyer

In a shocking move, defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders released their captain Shreyas Iyer before the IPL 2025 mega auction. Iyer was the glue that held Kolkata’s destructive batting lineup last season as he played the anchor role whenever required.

Iyer’s excellent batting record against spinners and his fantastic captaincy record last season will make him a hot commodity in the IPL 2025 mega auction.

1. Rishabh Pant

Rishabh Pant will be up for grabs at the upcoming IPL 2025 mega auction. The Indian wicket-keeper is known for his destructive batting and finishing ability. Coming back from a life-threatening car accident last season, Pant was one of the few bright spots in the Capitals’ batting lineup.

Last season, Pant scored 446 runs at a strike rate of 155. Pant’s leadership quality is another factor that can trigger a bidding war for the southpaw.
