Rishabh Pant was the most expensive player sold at the IPL 2025 mega auction.

After two days of extensive bidding, during which a total of 182 players were sold, including 62 overseas, the IPL 2025 mega auction finally came to an end. The total money spent by the 10 teams combined was INR 639.15 crores.

This year’s mega auction had the interesting twist of the Right To Match card, which was made even more interesting as the team holding the bid can raise the bid to any amount they wish if another franchise wishes to the use the RTM card.

Through this rule, Rishabh Pant’s value went straight from 20.75 crores to 27 crores, making him the most expensive player in the history of the IPL and will join the Lucknow Super Giants for IPL 2025.

Minutes ago, Pant’s former Delhi Capitals teammate Shreyas Iyer, who had led Kolkata Knight Riders to the IPL 2024 title, had become the most expensive player as Punjab Kings bought him for 26.75 crores.

Venkatesh Iyer was the third-most expensive player of the IPL 2025 mega auction as KKR purchased him for 23.75 crores.

Delhi gained the services of KL Rahul for 14 crores and Mitchell Starc for 11.75 crore. Chahal and Arshdeep both were bought for INR 18 crores each by Punjab.
