Avesh Khan picked up 19 wickets in IPL 2024 for Rajasthan Royals.

Right-arm speedster Avesh Khan has earned a reputation for being one of the quickest pacers in India. The 27-year-old seamer from Indore, Madhya Pradesh, has played for India in both white-ball international formats.

He made both his ODI and T20I debuts in 2022. Avesh has played eight ODIs and 25 T20Is so far for India, picking up nine and 27 wickets, respectively, in the two formats. He has been on the expensive side in T20Is, leaking at an economy of 9.04.

Although Avesh often fails to put a lid on the run rate, India tend to give him opportunities given his high pace and hit-the-deck bowling, a style that is often effective outside Asia.

Avesh Khan sold to LSG for INR 9.75 crore

LSG spent INR 9.75 crore to attain the services of fast bowler Avesh Khan in the mega auction. PBKS and RR were two other franchises that were interested in Avesh but LSG, who had bid for him at his base price, stuck with their goal and secured the seamer.

This price is INR 25 lakh less than his 10 crore salary at RR last season.

Avesh Khan previously in the IPL

Avesh made his Indian Premier League (IPL) debut in 2017 for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). He played only one match in his debut season and was released.

Delhi Capitals (DC) bought him in the IPL 2018 mega auction. He featured in only seven matches for DC from 2018 to 2020 but got a full season to play in 2021. Avesh had a breakthrough IPL season in 2021 as he picked up 24 wickets, helping DC reach the playoffs.

But the speedster was released by DC ahead of the IPL 2022 mega auction, where Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) roped him in for INR 10 crore. In two seasons at LSG, he snared 26 wickets before being traded to Rajasthan Royals (RR).

In IPL 2024, for RR, Avesh claimed 19 wickets and was a key player in the run to the playoffs. He was then released by RR ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction.
