IPL 2025 mega auction: List of all Bangladesh cricketers shortlisted
Punjab Kings will enter the IPL 2025 mega auction with the biggest purse.
The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 auction is set to take place on November 24 and 25 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. After announcing their retained players list last month, all the 10 franchises will complete their squads in the mega auction.
A total of 46 players have been retained by the 10 teams, with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) being the only franchises to make six retentions.
On the other hand, Punjab Kings (PBKS) have only made two retentions – Prabhsimran Singh and Shashank Singh and will enter the auction with a purse of INR 110.5 crores.
To increase the excitement, Right to Match (RTM) card has been reintroduced. However, unlike previous editions this time the franchise that places the original bid will have one more opportunity to raise the bid for the player even after a team uses the RTM card.
A total of 577 players are set to go under the hammer in the two-day event. Over 1500 players had registered themselves initially but the list was trimmed down to 577 players after inputs from franchises. Out of these 577 players, 367 are Indians whereas 210 are overseas.
A total of 12 Bangladesh players have been shortlisted for the IPL 2025 mega auction. They will eye the 70 overseas slots that are available among all 10 franchises.
Among the biggest Bangladeshi names at the mega auction are all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan, and fast bowlers Mustafizur Rahman and Taskin Ahmed who all could trigger a bidding war at the mega auction.
