Indian fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar has emerged as one of the greatest fast bowlers in the Indian Premier League (IPL) history. Bhuvneshwar was a key figure in Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) lineup since joining the franchise in 2014.

Regarded for swing and seam movement with the new ball, Bhuvneshwar is equally adept in executing yorkers in the death overs. He has also served as SRH’s vice-captain, bringing leadership qualities to the side.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar will join Royal Challengers Bengaluru for a salary of INR 10.75 crores. A total of three teams entered the bidding war for the Indian fast bowler. In the final stages, RCB battled it out with LSG to onboard the veteran fast bowler.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar previously in the IPL

Bhuvneshwar started his IPL journey with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) following his impressive performances in the Ranji 2008/09 season. However, he didn’t get to play a single game for the franchise.

Bhuvneshwar joined Pune Warriors India (PWI) in 2011 and served as the premium fast bowler for the team. He was later signed by Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in 2014, where he became one of the most iconic players in the franchise’s history.

The Indian fast bowler played a crucial role in SRH’s title-winning campaign in 2016. Leading the franchise’s bowling attack, Kumar emerged as the Purple Cap holder (highest wicket-taker in a season) with 23 wickets in 2016 season.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar began his IPL career with RCB for INR 6 lakhs. In 2014, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) signed him for INR 4.25 crores, marking the start of a long-standing partnership. The franchise retained him in 2018 for INR 8.5 crores. In 2022, SRH re-signed him once again, securing his services for INR 4.5 crores.
