IPL 2025 mega auction: Liam Livingstone sold to Royal Challengers Bengaluru for 8.75 crores

England all-rounder Liam Livingstone made his Indian Premier League (IPL) debut in 2019 for Rajasthan Royals. Known for his explosive hitting and ability to clear the boundary with ease, Livingstone has made a name for himself as a power-hitter in T20 cricket.
Liam’s versatility extends beyond batting, as he is also a handy spinner, capable of bowling both off and leg spin. His acrobatic fielding adds further value to his resume.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru buys Liam Livingstone for INR 8.75 crore
RCB have acquired the services of English all-rounder Liam Livingstone for the price of INR 8.75 crores
RCB were the first team to bid for Livingstone at his base price of INR 2 crore and then SRH came into the race. Both raised the bids to INR 4.2 crore when SRH moved out. RCB was then challenged by DC and CSK who both pushed to INR 6.5 crores and INR 8.5 crores respectively before leaving the player for RCB at 8.75 crore.

Liam Livingstone’s IPL journey began when he was picked by Rajasthan Royals (RR) before the 2019 season. Livingstone’s stint at RR was a short one as he was released in 2020, having played just four games for the franchise.
Livingstone was picked by Punjab Kings (PBKS) before IPL 2022. He experienced his breakout season in the league that year, scoring 437 runs and hitting the longest six of the tournament of 117 metres.
In his IPL career, Livingstone has scored 939 runs at an explosive strike rate of 163. He also has 11 wickets to his name. Livingstone had a poor 2024 season, scoring just 111 runs at an average of just 20.
He was bought by RR for INR 50 lakhs in 2019 by RR. PBKS bought him ahead of IPL 2022 for INR 11.5 crore.
