IPL 2025 mega auction is scheduled to take place on November 24 and 25 in Jeddah.
The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 mega auction is scheduled to take place on November 24 and 25 in Jeddah. The exciting two-day event promises to be a thriller with many franchises looking to rebuild their core before the upcoming season.
Earlier the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had mandated all the IPL franchises to release the list of retained players by October 31. The 10 IPL teams have retained a total of 46 players before the mega auction.
The strict retention rule, limiting every team to make a maximum of six retentions, has led to many star players being released by their franchises.
Several marquee Indian players including Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer will be available for the taking in the mega auction. The availability of these Indian mega stars has added an extra layer of excitement for the upcoming auction.
Punjab Kings will enter the auction with the biggest purse of INR 110.5 crores. The franchise made only two retentions – Shashank Singh and Prabhsimran Singh – before the auction. On the other hand, having retained six players for the next season, Rajasthan Royals will enter with the smallest purse of INR 41 crores.
A total of 574 players will go under the hammer at the IPL 2025 mega auction. They have listed themselves in different price brackets, ranging from INR 30 lakhs to INR 2 crores.
