IPL 2025 mega auction: Remaining slots and purse of all teams after day 1

72 players were sold on day 1 of the IPL 2025 mega auction.

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 mega auction kicked off on Sunday in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The first day of the two-day event saw the record for the most expensive player in IPL history get broken twice.

Punjab Kings roped in Shreyas Iyer for INR 26.75 crores and then Rishabh Pant was sold to Lucknow Super Giants for INR 27 crores, becoming the most expensive player in the IPL history.

Venkatesh Iyer also had a bumper day as he was bought for INR 23.75 crores by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).

A total of 72 players were sold on day 1 of the auction, of which 24 were foreigners.

PBKS, as expected, were the most active franchise today, buying the maximum number of players (10) and spending the most money (INR 88 crores).

At the end of the, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have the most purse left (INR 30.65 crores) and also have their three RTMs with them. Mumbai Indians (MI) were inactive for most parts, buying only four players, and have INR 26.1 crores left.

Every franchise must have 18 members in their squad and they can keep a maximum of 25 players, with the limit of 8 overseas players.
