IPL 2025 mega auction: T Natarajan earns whopping 10.75 crores deal
T Natarajan took 19 wickets in the IPL 2024 season for SRH.
Hailing from the Chinnappampatti village in the Salem district in Tamil Nadu, T Natarajan had the most fairytale and unbelievable debut international tour to Australia in 2020/21.
Initially selected only for the ODI and T20I series on the tour, in which he took eight wickets in four matches, Natarajan was then asked to stay for the test series as a net bowler. By the time the last test of the series arrived in Brisbane, India had lost all their three pacers that started in the first test, and Natarajan was given a debut test cap.
He made an huge impact with three first-innings wickets, including that of centurion Marnus Labuschagne, and became part of one of the most famous win in test cricket history.
However, he played two more white-ball games for India after that, both in 2021, and has been out of the national side for over three years. While he’s fared decently in the Indian Premier League (IPL) in recent years, injuries have hurt the left-arm pacer’s India career.

T Natarajan previously in the IPL
T Natarajan’s IPL journey has been interesting. He was bought for INR 3 crore by Punjab Kings in the 2017 auction but he performed poorly, picking up only two wickets in six games that season and was released.
Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) then bought him for INR 40 lakhs in the 2018 mega auction but he warmed the bench for two seasons. He had a breakthrough IPL season in 2020, where he snared 16 wickets and earned a call-up to India’s tour of Australia.
An injury meant he played only two games in IPL 2021 but he made a strong comeback with 18 wickets the next season. SRH spent INR 4 crore in the IPL 2022 mega auction for Natarajan’s services and he’s done well so far.
He’s taken 47 wickets in the last three IPL seasons before being released by SRH ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction.
Overall, T Natarajan has picked up 67 wickets in 61 IPL matches in his career.
