IPL 2025 mega auction: RCB economically buy Tim David for 3 crores
Tim David scored 241 runs for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2024.
Regarded as one of the most clinical finishers in world cricket, Tim David is known for his brute power-hitting ability. The Singapore-born cricketer has made a name for himself with his explosive batting in high-pressure situations.
David made his Indian Premier League (IPL) debut in 2021, playing for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). His ability to clear boundaries at will has made him a valuable asset in the T20 format.
RCB buy Tim David for INR 3 crore
RCB engaged in a bidding war for Tim David with SRH and secured him for INR 3 crore in the mega auction. David was with RCB in IPL 2021 as well.
SRH made the first bid on David at INR 2 crore and then RCB jumped in the race. The two stretched it out till 3 crore before SRH pulled out, thus, David went to RCB.
Tim David previously in the IPL
Tim David made his IPL debut with RCB in 2021 but was given limited opportunities, playing just one game in the season. In the IPL 2022 mega season, Tim David attracted bids from six franchises before ultimately securing a deal with Mumbai Indians (MI) for INR 8.25 crore.
David lived upto the hype in first season with the franchise finishing with an outstanding strike rate of 216.28. His standout performance came against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) where he score 46 off 18 balls.
David scored 241 runs at a strike rate of 160 in 2024 before being released by the franchise.
