IPL 2025 mega auction: When will the event begin? Time announced
Saudi Arabia will host the IPL 2025 mega auction on November 24 and 25.
On Friday, 15th November, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) revealed the list of players who will be up for grabs at the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 mega auction.
Earlier, 1574 cricketers from India and around the world had registered themselves for the mega auction. Then, the BCCI pruned the list to 574 players after taking inputs from all the 10 teams. They will go under the hammer in the IPL 2025 mega auction.
Out of these 574 players, 366 are Indians and 208 are overseas. After all 10 franchises announced their retentions, ranging from two players to six players, a total of 204 slots are available across the 10 squads to be filled in the mega auction. Of these 204 slots, overseas players can occupy a maximum of 70 slots.
When and where is the IPL 2025 mega auction?
The IPL 2025 mega auction will take place on November 24 and 25 at the Abady Al Johar Arena, also known as Benchmark Arena, in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
What is the time of the IPL 2025 mega auction?
On both days, that is November 24 and 25, the mega auction will start at 3:00 PM IST, which is 12.30 PM Local time.
Players have placed themselves in different base price brackets, with INR 2 crores being the maximum and INR 30 lakhs being the minimum.
There are two sets of marquee players: M1 and M2. The M1 set includes Jos Buttler, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant, Kagiso Rabada, Arshdeep Singh and Mitchell Starc, and the M2 set includes Yuzvendra Chahal, Liam Livingstone, David Miller, KL Rahul, Mohammed Shami, and Mohammed Siraj.
A total of 81 players have put themselves in the highest base price bracket, that is INR 2 crores.
