IPL 2025: Most runs (Orange Cap), most wickets (Purple Cap) after match 2, SRH vs RR

SRH defeated RR by 44 runs in the second match of IPL 2025.
On Sunday, March 23, Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated Rajasthan Royals by 44 runs in their opening match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.
After being asked to bat first, SRH got off to a brilliant start, scoring more than 90 runs in the first six overs. Travis Head took charge in the initial overs, racking up 67 runs off 31 balls to lay the foundation for a big total.
Ishan Kishan then took charge, registering an unbeaten 106 off 47 balls, including 11 fours and six sixes, to propel the hosts to the second-highest total in IPL history – 286/6.
RR’s premier fast bowler Jofra Archer registered an unwanted record for conceding the most runs in a spell in IPL history, finishing with figures of 76/0.
In reply, RR lost early wickets and slipped to 50/3. Sanju Samson (66) and Dhruv Jurel (70) then joined hands to score half-centuries each, helping the team reach 242/6 to minimize the damage to their NRR.
Harshal Patel emerged as the most successful bowler for SRH registering match figures of 2/34.

Thanks to his sensational century against the Royals, Ishan Kishan leads the run-scorers’ chart with 106 runs in the tournament. RR’s wicket-keeper batter Dhruv Jurel follows him with a tally of 70 runs.
Head’s blistering half-century has placed him in third spot with 67 runs. Sanju Samson and Virat Kohli complete the list of top five with 66 and 59 runs respectively.

Krunal Pandya leads the wicket-takers’ chart with three wickets, while RR pacer Tushar Deshpande is second with three wickets (lower due to bowling average).
Josh Hazlewood, Harshal Patel, and Simarjeet Singh complete the list of top five with two wickets each.
