IPL 2025: Most runs (Orange Cap), most wickets (Purple Cap) after match 3, CSK vs MI

CSK defeated MI by four wickets in the third match of IPL 2025.
On Sunday, March 23, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) defeated Mumbai Indians (MI) by four wickets in their opening match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.
After being asked to bat first, MI got off to a poor start, losing their first three wickets for just 36 runs. Tilak Varma and Suryakumar Yadav then joined hands to stabilize the innings with a 51-run partnership for the fourth wicket before MS Dhoni removed Suryakumar with a lightning-fast stumping.
Suryakumar’s wicket triggered a collapse for the visitors, who slipped to 96/6 in the blink of an eye. Deepak Chahar’s fighting 28 off 15 balls propelled Mumbai to 155/9. Noor Ahmad emerged as CSK’s best bowler, registering match figures of 4/18.
In reply, Ruturaj Gaikwad (53) and Rachin Ravindra (65) anchored the chase for CSK with a solid 67-run stand for the second wicket. The game took a dramatic turn as MI spinners took regular wickets in the middle overs, reducing CSK to 116/5. Debutant Vignesh Puthur starred with three wickets to his name.
Ravindra Jadeja then joined Rachin as the duo kept their calm to take CSK over the line with four wickets in hand.

Thanks to his sensational century against the Royals, Ishan Kishan leads the run-scorers’ chart with 106 runs in the tournament. RR’s wicket-keeper batter Dhruv Jurel follows him with a tally of 70 runs.
Head’s blistering half-century has placed him in third spot with 67 runs. Sanju Samson and Rachin Ravindra complete the list of top five with 66 and 65 runs respectively.
