IPL 2025: Points table, most runs, most wickets after match 42, RCB vs RR

RCB defeated RR by 11 runs in the 42nd match of IPL 2025.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) locked horns with each other in the 42nd match of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The RCB vs SRH match took place at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Chasing 206 runs for victory in the match, RR could only reach 194/6 as RCB won by 11 runs. Josh Hazlewood picked a four-wicket haul to help RCB defend the target and register their first win at home this season.

After being asked to bat first, RCB piled up a gigantic total of 205/5 with Virat Kohli’s wonderful half-century. Devdutt Padikkal also slammed a fifty for the home team. Wicket-keeper batter Jitesh Sharma added quickfire 20 runs towards the end. RR pacers largely failed to dominate RCB batters. Sandeep Sharma picked two wickets while Jofra Archer and Wanindu Hasaranga got one wicket each.

IPL 2025: Updated points table

After the RCB vs RR, match No. 42 of IPL 2025, RCB have jumped to the third spot in the updated points table of IPL 2025. They have 12 points and Net Run Rate (NRR) of +0.482. On the other hand, RR take the eighth position in the points table. They have four points and NRR of -0.625.

Gujarat Titans (GT) take the top spot with 12 points followed by Delhi Capitals (DC) in the second spot with an equal number of points. Mumbai Indians (MI) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) take the fourth and fifth positions with 10 points each. Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) languish at bottom of the table.

IPL 2025: Most runs (Orange Cap)

Kohli, who slammed a fabulous half-century in the match, has jumped to the second spot in Orange Cap leaderboard. He now has 392 runs in his kitty. Kohli leapfrogged LSG’s Nicholas Pooran in the process.

Notably, RR opener Yashasvi Jaiswal got out for 49 in the game and has an equal 356 runs with fifth-ranked Jos Buttler. GT opener Sai Sudharsan owns the Orange Cap in IPL 2025 and takes the top spot. Pooran has dropped to the third rank while MI batter Suryakumar Yadav has moved to the fourth spot.

IPL 2025: Most wickets (Purple Cap)

GT bowler Prasidh Krishan continues to rule the Purple Cap leaderboard with 16 wickets. RCB pacer Josh Hazlewood has jumped to the second spot with his fabulous four wickets in the match. The Aussie pacer now has an equal of 16 scalps. He was positioned in the fifth spot ahead of RCB vs RR game.

Kuldeep Yadav, Noor Ahmad, and R Sai Kishore take the next three positions among the top five highest wicket-takers with 12 wickets each. RCB spinner Krunal Pandya, who got two wickets in the match, has an equal 12 wickets. No RR bowlers are among the list of top five highest wicket-takers this season.
