MI defeated RR by 100 runs in match No. 50 of IPL 2025.

Mumbai Indians (MI) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) clashed in match No. 50 of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 on Thursday, May 1. The clash took place at RR’s home ground Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. RR had a challenging target of 218 runs to chase in the clash. They faced a deadly batting collapse during the chase as their top seven key batters could not even cross 20-run mark. MI won the match by a huge margin of 100 runs after bundling out RR for 117.

Earlier in the game, RR won the toss and opted to bowl first in the clash. MI piled up a gigantic total of 217/2 on the scoreboard with half-centuries by openers Ryan Rickelton and Rohit Sharma. Later, Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya added unbeaten 48 runs each. RR bowlers were completely helpless against the MI batters. Maheesh Theekshana and Riyan Parag clinched one wicket each.

After the 50th game of IPL 2025, MI have jumped to the top spot in IPL 2025 points table. They have 14 points and Net Run Rate (NRR) of +1.274. With the loss in the game, RR are still positioned eighth in the updated team standings. They have six points and NRR of -0.780 and now out of the race of playoffs.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) grab the second and third positions respectively. While RCB have 14 points, PBKS have 13 points. GT take the fourth spot with 12 points. Chennai Super Kings, who are already eliminated from the playoffs, take the 10th place with four points.

MI vice-captain Suryakumar Yadav has moved to the top spot in Orange Cap leaderboard after his unbeaten 48 runs in RR vs MI game. He has displaced GT’s Sai Sudharsan at the top. RCB opener Virat Kohli and RR opener Yashasvi Jaiswal take the third and fourth positions respectively. Jos Buttler grabs the fifth spot with 406 runs.

MI pacer Trent Boult, who picked three wickets in the game, has entered the list of top five highest wicket-takers this season and now finds himself at third position with 16 wickets to his name. Other than this, there are no changes in the list of top five highest wicket-takers this season following the RR vs MI game.

Josh Hazlewood of Royal Challengers Bengaluru still leads the charts with 18 wickets to his name followed by Gujarat Titans’ Prasidh Krishna, who has 17 wickets to his name. Chennai Super Kings’ Noor Ahmad and Khaleel Ahmed round off the list of top five highest wicket-takers this season with 15 and 14 wickets respectively.
