Breaking News: IPL 2025 to resume on May 17 as BCCI announces schedule

IPL 2025 will resume on Saturday, May 17 after one week’s suspension.
In a great news for cricket fans across the globe, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Monday, May 12 announced the resumption of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The tournament will resume on Saturday, May 17 and witness a total of 17 games, which are left to be played in the tournament.
Notably, IPL 2025 was suspended by BCCI with immediate effect on Friday, May 9, due to security issues. On Thursday, the 58th match between Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Delhi Capitals (DC) was halted in Dharamsala due to technical and security issues.
Hence, BCCI suspended IPL 2025 for a week amid military tensions between India and Pakistan. However, BCCI also informed that a revised schedule for the rest of the games will be announced soon.
IPL 2025 final to take place on June 3
On Monday, May 12, BCCI announced the revised schedule for IPL 2025 in an official statement. As per the new schedule, the IPL 2025 final has been pushed back to June 3. Earlier, the final was scheduled to be played on May 25.
Also, a total of 17 games, including the playoffs and final will be played starting May 17, Saturday. Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will lock horns on May 17 in 59th match of the season.
Six venues across India will host the remaining games of the tournament. They are Bengaluru, Jaipur, Delhi, Lucknow, Mumbai, and Ahmedabad. Also, the venues of the playoffs and final are yet to be decided by the BCCI. Two double headers will be played on two Sundays – May 18 and May 25.
IPL 2025 schedule for remainder of the tournament:

Meanwhile, Gujarat Titans (GT) hold the top spot in IPL 2025 points table with 16 points. RCB follow them in the next place with an equal number of points. PBKS and Mumbai Indians (MI) take the third and fourth spots respectively in the points table.
No team has finalized their berth in the playoffs so far. Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Rajasthan Royals (RR), and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) are already eliminated from the playoffs race.
