The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 retention event will take place on October 31, Thursday. Ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction, all 10 franchises will submit their list of retained players.
According to the retention rules released by the BCCI last month, a franchise can retain up to six players through any combination of retention and Right-To-Match (RTM) option. Of the six retentions allowed, a franchise can retain up to a maximum of five capped players and a maximum of two uncapped players.
The BCCI has also increased the purse of each franchise from INR 100 crores from the previous auction to INR 120 crores for the upcoming IPL 2025 mega auction.
