The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 schedule will be announced on Sunday, February 16. As reported earlier, the 18th edition of the tournament is expected to begin on March 22, with the opening clash between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Eden Gardens. The official announcement, however, will be made today.

IPL 2025 will feature 10 teams competing for the title: Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings, Kolkata Knight Riders, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Rajasthan Royals, Gujarat Titans, Lucknow Super Giants, Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals.

Kolkata Knight Riders will enter the season as defending champions, having won the IPL 2024 title with a dominant eight-wicket victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad in the final last year in Chennai.

The IPL 2025 mega auction, which preceded the tournament, was a historic one, with teams spending unprecedented amounts of money to strengthen their squads.

Rishabh Pant made history by becoming the most expensive player in tournament history, securing a deal worth INR 27 crores with Lucknow Super Giants. Shreyas Iyer followed closely with a INR 26.75 crore move to Punjab Kings.

Mumbai Indians are considered the team to watch for the upcoming season. The five-time champions retained their strong Indian core with Rohit Sharma, Tilak Varma, Jasprit Bumrah, Suryakumar Yadav, and Hardik Pandya, while also adding valuable overseas options in Trent Boult and Will Jacks.

On Sunday, the official broadcasters of the IPL in India, Star Sports Network confirmed through a social media post on X (formerly Twitter) that the schedule for IPL 2025 will be announced today.

The IPL 2025 schedule announcement will be telecast live on Star Sports Network in India. Jio Hotstar will live stream the announcement on their app and website in India.

The fixture announcement will take place at 5:30 PM IST.
