IPL 2025: Suryakumar Yadav receives special jersey on playing 100th match for MI

As Suryakumar Yadav arrived to play his 100th game for MI in IPL, he was gifted a special jersey by the management.

India T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav is yet to smack a hundred in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, however, he has completed hundred games in the tournament’s history for Mumbai Indians (MI). During MI vs LSG encounter on Friday, April 4, the right-handed batsman featured in his 100th game for the side.

MI are facing LSG in their fourth encounter of IPL 2025. The Hardik Pandya & Co. chose to bowl first in the match after winning the toss at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.

Notably, MI opener Rohit Sharma was rested for the encounter due to a knee injury. MI have had a dismal start to the season, losing the first two games out of three. However, they registered a dominant victory by eight wickets in their previous tie against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).

As Suryakumar Yadav arrived to play his 100th game for MI in the IPL, he was gifted a special jersey by the management. Batting coach Kieron Pollard handed him a jersey with 100 number and “SURYA DADA” mentioned in it for his special game and congratulated him over the achievement.

Yadav switched to the ‘100’-numbered jersey than his regular ’63’ number against LSG. IPL also shared the photos of the moment on their official X handle (formerly Twitter). Have a look at the post below.

Notably, Yadav has featured in 154 IPL games so far. He was first picked by MI in the 2012 season and was retained till the 2013 edition. However, from 2014 to 2017 season, he represented KKR. At the mega auction before 2018 season, MI brought him back into the squad and since then have been retained him over the years.

Across 154 games in IPL history, MI stalwart has mustered 3698 runs at an average of 32.73 and a marvellous strike rate of 145+. The 360-degree batter has also hit two hundreds and 24 half-centuries in the tournament’s history.

Meanwhile, Yadav is the leading run-getter for MI in IPL 2025 at the moment. The top-order batter has slammed 104 runs across three games. He slammed 29, 48, and 27* across his three outings.
