IPL 2026: All players bought by GT in auction

GT bought 5 players in the auction.

The IPL 2026 auction brought several surprises for the fans. Cameron Green went on to become the most expensive overseas player; Kolkata Knight Riders bought him for a whopping INR 25.20 crore.

The 2022 winner, Gujarat Titans, entered the IPL 2026 auction with the third-lowest purse value of INR 12.90. They retained 20 players from the last season and almost had all the bases covered. But despite having a small purse, they ended up making some useful signings.

The Titans would be happy that they were successful in executing their auction plans. Overall, they fought for nine different players. The first player who made GT raise their paddle was Venkatesh Iyer.

But they couldn’t have him, as he went to the Royal Challengers Bengaluru for a price of INR 7 crore. At the end of the IPL 2026 auction, Gujarat signed five players, taking their total to a 25-member squad.

GT tried to have Venkatesh Iyer, but their budget didn’t allow them. Later, the Gujarat Titans signed West Indies’ star all-rounder Jason Holder. Jason has experience of 46 IPL games and has 53 wickets to his name.

He is also a global T20 star who has improved his power hitting with the bat. Currently, he is playing in the ongoing ILT20 2025-26. The franchise also showed interest in uncapped pacer Ashok Sharma, who is the leading wicket-taker in the SMAT 2025-26.

They signed him for INR 90 lakhs. Later in the acceleration round, they signed England’s hard-hitting keeper Tom Banton for INR 2 crore.

They also signed another uncapped Indian bowler, Prithvi Raj Yarra, for his base price of INR 30 lac. Their last signing was English pacer Luke Wood for INR 75 lac. With this, GT spent 10.95 crore and signed five players to complete their 25-member squad.
